With the amount of brain games flooding the market, it’s nice to find one that is actually entertaining. Enter Blitz Arcade’s Encleverment Experiment. This title, available exclusively on the Xbox Live Marketplace, will set you back 800 points.
When starting the game, the first thing you notice is the art style. I usually don’t like cartoons on television drawn in this style, but in this game it works. All games, including brain games, are supposed to be fun. I believe that was the primary goal when developing this title, as the graphics represent that vibe very well.
You start out with your avatar, plus a choice of bears as your mascot, and unlock up to 60 mascots as you progress through the game. Professor Ivor Question guides you through 16 enjoyable mini games. He reminded me somewhat of the Disney character, Professor Ludwig Von Drake. The game supports the big button controllers that you may have used to play Scene It, as well as the Live Vision camera.

The game will test your savvy in math, memory, pattern recognition and reactions. You are rewarded with Noodles for doing well in the game, which is the game’s currency that allows you to purchase more mascots. The game has different levels of difficulty, as its intended audience runs the gamut from 5 year olds up to adults, making it a game the entire family can enjoy.
As far as specific games go, they are cleverly (and appropriately) named. “Shelf Awareness” challenges you to track items on color-coded shelves, and you must identify the missing cog wheel in “COGnitive Therapy.” Get it?
Encleverment Experiment packs a big punch in such a small Xbox Live Arcade package. It’s nice to find a game that the entire family can enjoy, and Blitz Arcade hit the mark there. From the graphics, to the music, and the mini-games, this game was just a joy to play. I recommend Encleverment Experiment for families that want a good game night that is both educational and fun.
