Kevin of SelectButton.com sat down with this new MMO to take a spin with what may "change the face of MMO gaming." The other staff members managed to pry him away long enough to get this review from him.
Looking forward to the zombie survival game The Last of Us? So is Leviathyn.com's Cassidee Moser. So much so that she lists her top five reasons for being excited. This PS3 exclusive is looking better and better with every new...
Starhawk Review - Glitch Cat 16 May 2012 | 6:49 pm
Despite it’s weak story, Starhawk excels at everything else it sets out to achieve. It provides a unique, robust multiplayer component, filled with original ideas and unique gameplay. This game has the legs to last in the over-saturated multiplayer market,...
Prototype 2 Review - Glitch Cat 16 May 2012 | 6:00 pm
At the end of the day, Prototype 2 is a very solid open-world action game. Although the plot is boring and the lack of gameplay variety is evident early on, it’s not really a big issue. Full of explosive action,...

Yu Suzuki Bringing Formerly Canceled Game to Playstation 3

E-mail Print PDF

While Sega fans long for news about the canceled Shenmue Online for PC getting a new breath of life, it looks like the Playstation 3 is about to get Yu Suzuki’s next big game. While our older die-hard fans would squeal with joy over word of Shenmue, it's another canceled Sega title headed to PS3.

Sega's Yu SuzukiWhile details are still limited, what we know is that Yu Suzuki is slated to appear at E3's press conference to display a new 1 on 1 combat title that will utilize Playstation's Move. The only description provided by our tipster is that "Yu wants this to be about real human interaction and competition". A little more probing resulted in the disclosure that the title was slated for another platform a couple years ago, but was canceled.

We're obviously eager to find out what the game is and based on the little information we have; we can only come up with one title - Psy-Phi. Psy-Phi was a Yu Suzuki title that was gaining a lot of momentum in the press about four years ago and then disappeared shortly after being recalled from arcades and canceled from any further release. No reason was ever given for the recall and ultimate cancellation. Yu did tout Psy-Phi as a game that would promote "real human interaction" though. The combination of the Playstation Network and the upcoming Playstation Move make for a likely duo to deliver Yu Suzuki's dream of "real human interaction" in Psy-Phi on the PS3.

So now we're stuck sitting and waiting for more information or the official announcement at E3. We sure hope we don't have to wait till June to see what Yu Suzuki and Sega’s AM Plus Division have planned.

It's Shenmue man. He had 16 chapters planned and wanted it to be the closest thing to reality possible. The PS3 can do it! omg please be Shenmue 3 or Online.

What's mind boggling is that Sega have knocked out 4 Yakuza games which are virtually like the Shenmue games, so why can't they gave us Shenmue 4? So all in all, just use the Yakuza engine and out pops Shenmue 4....

I don't know what it is, but i really hope its a new Virtual On, with PlayStation Move acting as twin sticks to have the arcade feel, and 1 vs. 1 human controlled robot fighting interaction.

Most likely a Virtua Fighter in first person with Sony Move controllers

I can see a new Virtua Fighter before Virtua On. The Virtua On series has proven to be a cult franchise aka low sales. Now Virtua Fighter 5 did hit PS3 first, so I can see a fighter before a mech title.

I hope it's not Shenmue. I was never impressed by that. It was just something for Dreamcast fanboys to rant about.

If this is Shenmue 3 as a PS3 exclusive, I will jizz, you have no idea. I will literally run around my house screaming in joy. I've been waiting for Shenmue 3 for far too long and this would be the perfect Sega-Sony marriage. I'll try not to get my hopes up too much. I feel like I'm gonna be disappointed though
