TERA review | SelectButton 16 May 2012 | 7:51 pm
Kevin of SelectButton.com sat down with this new MMO to take a spin with what may "change the face of MMO gaming." The other staff members managed to pry him away long enough to get this review from him.
Looking forward to the zombie survival game The Last of Us? So is Leviathyn.com's Cassidee Moser. So much so that she lists her top five reasons for being excited. This PS3 exclusive is looking better and better with every new...
Starhawk Review - Glitch Cat 16 May 2012 | 6:49 pm
Despite it’s weak story, Starhawk excels at everything else it sets out to achieve. It provides a unique, robust multiplayer component, filled with original ideas and unique gameplay. This game has the legs to last in the over-saturated multiplayer market,...
Prototype 2 Review - Glitch Cat 16 May 2012 | 6:00 pm
At the end of the day, Prototype 2 is a very solid open-world action game. Although the plot is boring and the lack of gameplay variety is evident early on, it’s not really a big issue. Full of explosive action,...

Ripoff Report: BioShock 2 DLC Confirmed Already on the Disc

E-mail Print PDF

Gamers who have paid for the "downloadable content" for BioShock 2 are pretty upset after finding out it's not really downloadable content since it is already on the disc. While many sites have reported their suspicions about the ripoff, users from 2K's official forums are posting proof today.

Many Go Fanboy members posted concerns about the possibility of this happening after 2K announced the DLC well before  the release of the title. Why companies do this is beyond us. Even more disconcerting is that the console companies allow it to happen. They are getting a cut of this. So who do you blame? We say you blame both the publisher and the console you're downloading on.

Below is an image provided by 2K forums user "doomed" which shows the extremely small size of the "DLC" which essentially is nothing more than an unlock to content on the disc. It basically equals 23KB on PC, 108KB on Xbox 360 and 103KB on PlayStation 3. Should you pay more for content you already bought?

Shame on you 2K. We defend you and say you're better than Activision and EA and you continue to prove you're the same. Why are the characters from the DLC in the game's credits?

What a crock of **** I think honestly. If the DLC is on the disk they should not charge for it period...I bought the Limited Edition version along with all the Bioshock 2 Neca toys and I hear this now. I WILLNOT BUY ANOTHER BIOSHOCK PRODUCT AGAIN UNLESS THE DLC IS FREE. I support developers, but they aren't getting my $5 and change for something on the disk.

It always makes me laugh that people get so angry that businesses (that's what publishers are) are out there to make money. No-one's forcing you to buy the DLC and it's hardly the end of the world if you go without it if it riles so much.

Ive had this argument hundreds of times, always ends the same way. If you dont want it, dont buy it.

I'll just have one of my buddies buy it from the PSN store, then download it from him because we share. It's that easy. The publishers got my money for the game and they aren't getting anymore, period. If you Xbox Live, then you're screwed because you can't share anything....sucks to be a 360 owner because Microsoft really likes to milk the system with DLC.
