Kevin of SelectButton.com sat down with this new MMO to take a spin with what may "change the face of MMO gaming." The other staff members managed to pry him away long enough to get this review from him.

Starhawk Review - Glitch Cat 16 May 2012 | 6:49 pm
Despite it’s weak story, Starhawk excels at everything else it sets out to achieve. It provides a unique, robust multiplayer component, filled with original ideas and unique gameplay. This game has the legs to last in the over-saturated multiplayer market,...
Prototype 2 Review - Glitch Cat 16 May 2012 | 6:00 pm
At the end of the day, Prototype 2 is a very solid open-world action game. Although the plot is boring and the lack of gameplay variety is evident early on, it’s not really a big issue. Full of explosive action,...

Sad News in Gaming as Another Popular Developer Shuts Down

E-mail Print PDF

Cing, the developer of popular titles like Little King’s Story, Trace Memory, Monster Rancher, and Hotel Dusk, has sadly filed for bankruptcy due to what has been described as "insurmountable debts that the company will never be able to pay". Needless to say it's sad to start the week with this news.

Sad GamerThe tiny Japanese developer only had around 30 staff, but managed to produce a number of memorable games on Nintendo’s platforms. Its debts were relatively small, standing at just $2.9 million, but clearly that was too much for such a small company to handle, and now it looks as though it will be forced to close.

The bankruptcy filing puts in doubt the release of Cing’s latest Hotel Dusk game on Nintendo DS. So far it has seen a release in its home territory of Japan under the title of Last Window, but whether a Western release now happens is unknown and may largely be in the hands of Nintendo.

I never heard of those games, but it's always sad to hear about people losing their jobs.

You are aware that bankruptcy does not mean they are closing right? It means they are trying to remain open in fact. It's a legal maneuver to settle debts so they don't have to close.

just saying.

Japan isn't America. Companies don't file bankruptcy and get away with just dodging creditors. Japan is much stricter. Bankruptcy in Japan means you get a short period of exemption while your assets are about to get sold off.

*laughs at know-it-alls*
